As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Prospective authors should note that only original and previously unpublished articles will be considered. In other words, papers submitted for consideration of publication in JIPSF must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere either in electronic or printed form. These papers should also have not been published previously. Submissions are accepted electronically only. Types of submissions accepted are empirical research, conceptual models, theory building, innovative methodologies and applications, case studies and book reviews. The manuscript must be the author(s) original work and plagiarism or any libelous or unlawful statements or infringe on the rights or privacy of others are not allowed.

Please format the manuscript in ways as follow in order to expedite the publication process:

Article type: One Column

Manuscript organization:

JIPSF accepted papers in English and Malay. Papers in Malay and should have abstracts and keywords in English. Authors are asked to submit their papers in Microsoft Word file that can be converted to a high quality PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) for publication. Tables and figures embedded in the text itself. The maximum number of pages is 15 pages.

Title, author(s), and affiliations should all be included on a title page as the first page of the manuscript file, followed by a 100-300 word abstract and 3-5 keywords. The order they follow is: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, and Introduction. Type your manuscript 1.5 spaced, and make all the characters in the text, tables, figure legends, footnotes and references in 12 point Times New Roman. Use at least one-inch margins on all four sides. Authors are responsible for providing manuscripts that are clearly written and that contain correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Authors are also responsible for providing accurate references using the APA format. Abbreviations should be used sparingly. The first time an abbreviation is used it should appear in parentheses following the full-text of the abbreviated words.

All figures or photographs must be submitted as jpg or tif files with distinct characters and symbols at 500 dpi (dots per inch). Tables and equations should be in an editable rather than image version. Tables must be edited with Word/Excel. Equations must be edited with Equation Editor. Figures, tables and equations should be numbered and cited as Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, etc. in sequence.

If relevant, should include a brief acknowledgement for financial support (grants or other funding sources) and research support (people who contributed to the project who they are not authors such as for statistical, data collection, and reviews process). Other forms of dissemination of the manuscript such as presentations at conferences should also be acknowledged.

Journal Editors may decline to consider a manuscript for several reasons, including:

  • Inadequate evidence that the method is substantially new and promising.
  • Poor preparation.
  • An insufficiently clear and detailed presentation.
  • Lack of adherence to the journal’s guidelines for manuscript preparation.
  • Plagiarism.

Journal editors would consider retracting a publication if:

  • Clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either due to misconduct or honest error.
  • Findings have previously been published elsewhere as in cases of redundant publication.
  • Constitute plagiarism and unethical research.
